Woburn Parish Church
Danesborough Chorus start their 51st season with a performance of one of the greatest large choral works, the Requiem by Verdi.
Instead of the Church's normal Evensong service, on Advent Sunday the Singers will be singing in a special Service of Music for Advent at 6pm – which of course is free to attend.
The Singers will be joined by the St Barnabas Choir in a service of readings and music based around the seven Advent 'O' plainsong antiphons.
The music will range from Orlando Gibbons's 'This is the record of John' to more recent Advent choral music including Paul Manz's popular anthem 'E'n so, Lord Jesus, quickly come', and of course there will be some favourite Advent hymns for all to sing including 'O come, O come Emmanuel'.
All welcome.
Are you a choral singer? Fancy having a fun and informal sing through your favourite carols from Carols for Choirs books 1 and 2?
If so, why not join the Linsdale Singers at their last rehearsal before the Christmas break. All choral singers welcome (no charge), bring your Carols for Choirs books 1 and 2 with you if you have them (the Choir has a small number of books to lend out for the evening).
Please let us know if you would like to come along by emailing your name and voice part to info@linsdale.org.uk
