Woburn Parish Church
Park Street, Woburn
Danesborough Chorus end their 50th anniversary season with a repeat of the first orchestral concert conducted by their Musical Director Ian Smith.
St Michaels Church, Woburn Sands
Church Road, Woburn Sands, Bedfordshire MK17 8TA
It's been 10 years since the Choir visited St Michael's Church in Woburn Sands so a return visit is long overdue.
At 4pm the Singers will give a short concert of light summery music and this will be followed by tea & cakes. Then at 6pm the Choir will sing a full Choral Evensong service (which of course will be free to attend).
The main item in the concert will be 'Songs and Sonnets of Shakespeare', George Shearing's jazzy settings of words from Shakespeare.
Ticket prices/availability and further details to follow.
The next Gala Orchestra concert will be another of the group's popular short Sunday afternoon fund-raising concerts. This time the Orchestra will be delving into the world of radio and TV themes – some well-known (oh, so that's where the music came from!) and some not so well-known.
The concert will be raising funds for a worthy charity, to be decided.
Again the concert will be followed by tea and cakes in the Hall, kindly provided by members of St Barnabas Church (with proceeds going to the Church).
Up-to-date information can be found on the Orchestra's website.
