Arts Forum grants
The Forum distributes annual grants on behalf of Leighton–Linslade Town Council to suitable individuals and arts groups in the town. Applicants and their activities should benefit/involve individuals or groups residing in Leighton Buzzard, Linslade and surrounding district and/or promote the arts to the local public. Grants are only available to voluntary groups, community groups, individuals and not-for-profit organisations; successful applicants will be able to enjoy the benefits of being a member of the Forum. Whilst commercial organisations are encouraged to belong to the Forum they are not able to apply for grants, but can benefit from all the other aspects the Forum has to offer.
Grants can be applied to use for specific projects/purposes, but not for day to day running costs, and must be completed within 12 months. The grant should benefit the organisation and its members or promote the arts to the wider public in the local area through a one-off art event or project. Grants can be awarded for the purchase of capital items (for example, music stands, display boards, sheet music etc, etc), training or for extra costs associated with a specific one-off event. We are happy to be part of a multi-funded project. Grants cannot be awarded retrospectively and applications for grants towards specific one-off projects should be made before the project is confirmed.
The grant application form is available in the Documents section.
Previous grant awards have been used to help fund:
- Installing a slope at the entrance to a local hall used by a children’s drama group to facilitate wheelchair access.
- Purchase new stage flats for local drama group.
- A specialist training course for members.
- Purchase sets of sheet music for a choir for a special event.
